Down to the WIRE!!!

Why is it, with just a few days left before Christmas, everyone, including me is running around like a mad person trying to get everything done in time? Does it really matter if the present shows up a few days late? If the Christmas cards shows up the day before? Isn't it the thought that counts? I wonder if the people we send gifts to, truly appreciate all the effort we put in to the item. The hours of baking, the time to drive to the store, buy the gift, package the gift, ship the gift, it just goes on and on. Details, Details, Details....it's all in the details. I personally, could care less when something arrives, but, when it arrives in cute packages, handmade bows, cards, personally tied ribbons, candy canes stuck under the bow...all this makes such a difference than the item itself within the box. This show me, that the person who sent the gift, spent just a little extra time on that gift preparation, which makes me feel even more special. I guess that is why I run around like a chicken with my head cut off, doing all the 'little things' that I hope they appreciate, as I do, when I received something with such thought. I am sure my husband will roll his eyes when he reads this, as he does when I point out such creative gestures! In the end, I guess it really doesn't matter.
